Argentario and Surroundings

A Journey Through Crystal-Clear Waters, Breathtaking Landscapes, and Timeless Charm

The skyline of Argentario is a landmark for travelers exploring the southern coast of Tuscany. This promontory, appearing like an island in the middle of the sea, is a destination of unmatched beauty. The rugged coastline features coves of extraordinary charm, blanketed by Mediterranean scrub, olive groves, and vineyards on terraced hillsides overlooking the crystal-clear waters that surround the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago, primarily Giglio and Giannutri.
Freshwater springs abound, and delightful wildlife such as hares, porcupines, and deer can be spotted along stunning trails, during trekking adventures, or on mountain bike excursions. The promontory is connected to the mainland by the Giannella and Feniglia sand dunes, as well as a road crossing the Orbetello Lagoon.

Argentario is ideally situated between the beautiful beaches of Albinia and Talamone to the north and those of Capalbio and Ansedonia to the south.

Rich in Mediterranean history, Argentario has been a retreat for illustrious figures since the early 20th century. Kings and queens, actors, directors, and artists have frequented this area, a trend that continues to this day. Evening strolls along the Porto Santo Stefano marina, where beautiful yachts are moored, and the exclusive clubs of Porto Ercole have always been a favorite pastime for the elite, cementing their status as a cherished tradition in Tuscany’s Maremma region. Only 40 minutes away are Montemerano and the thermal baths of Saturnia.

Conveniently located, Argentario is just over an hour from both Rome and Siena, while Florence and Pisa are about two hours away.
